Elite Performance FAQs
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
At Hartfield-Jackson Sport & Spine, we view chiropractic care as the key to unlocking your body's true potential. It is an elite form of healthcare focused on identifying and correcting biomechanical restrictions and neurological deficits. By utilizing targeted, high-level adjustments, we restore proper alignment and function to your musculoskeletal system so you can move, perform, and recover at your absolute best.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN CHIROPRACTIC CARE HELP WITH?
While we effectively treat traditional issues like back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and headaches, our elite approach goes much further. We specialize in helping athletes and active individuals overcome sports injuries, clear out fascial restrictions, eliminate joint stiffness, and break through athletic performance plateaus.
DOES CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT HURT?
Our adjustments are highly precise and rarely cause discomfort. In fact, many patients report an immediate sense of relief, restored range of motion, and "unlocked" mobility following their treatment. Mild soreness, similar to what you might experience after a quality workout, is occasionally reported but typically resolves very quickly.
HOW DO I KNOW IF THIS CARE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
If you are experiencing pain, dealing with physical roadblocks, or simply feel like you cannot tap into your body's maximum power output, our care is right for you. You don't need to be an Olympian to be treated like one. The best way to determine your needs is to schedule an initial consultation so we can evaluate your movement patterns.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY ELITE BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT (FIRST VISIT)?
During your first visit, you will have a private consultation with Dr. Hartfield to discuss your physical roadblocks, health concerns, and performance goals. This is followed by a comprehensive evaluation of your nervous and musculoskeletal systems to pinpoint exactly where you are losing power or holding stress. If necessary, we may recommend diagnostic imaging to gain a complete understanding of your spinal health and structure. Depending on your specific needs, a relief treatment may be provided during this visit.
WILL I RECEIVE A PLAN OF CARE AND SEE MY RESULTS?
Absolutely. Following your assessment, you will have a Report of Findings visit. Dr. Hartfield will review your test results, explain exactly what is restricting your biomechanics, and outline how it is affecting your overall output. Based on this data, you will be presented with a Custom Performance Blueprint. This tailored care plan will detail the exact adjustments, soft tissue work, and recovery protocols required to resolve your problem, along with a clear timeline and cost breakdown.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING REGULAR OFFICE VISITS?
We respect your time and run a highly efficient clinic. During regular visits, Dr. Hartfield will assess your progress and perform targeted spinal or extremity adjustments to relieve tension and optimize your mobility. Depending on your Custom Performance Blueprint, your visit may also integrate specialized soft tissue work or active recovery therapies used at the highest levels of track and field. Our goal at every visit is to ensure you walk out firing on all cylinders.
HOW MANY VISITS WILL I NEED?
Every body is different, and the number of visits depends entirely on your specific condition and goals. Some patients simply need a quick "PR Maintenance" tune-up to keep their mechanics sound. Others recovering from injury or preparing for a major competition may require an intensive care cycle to completely rebuild their structural foundation. Dr. Hartfield will provide full transparency on what is required during your Report of Findings.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
No, you do not need a referral from another healthcare provider to schedule an assessment and begin care with us.
WHAT IS A NEURO-EVAL?
A Neuro-Eval is a comprehensive neurological assessment used to evaluate exactly how your nervous system is firing. This allows us to pinpoint specific deficits, clear communication pathways between your brain and body, and provide highly targeted interventions.
DO YOU OFFER PERFORMANCE CONSULTATION FOR ATHLETES?
Yes! Our Elite Performance Consultations are designed for athletes at every level to help them optimize their biomechanics, prevent injuries, and enhance their overall performance.
